LUMOS
Illuminated Electrosurgical Pencil

The Lumos was developed by a physician who wanted to more clearly visualize anatomical structures when using electrocautery. Not being able to find one in the market, he developed the Lumos.

The unique feature of the Lumos is simple – add a bright LED light to the underside of the Lumos which provides improved illumination within deep cavities.  The integrated LED light provides focused illumination of sensitive anatomical structures (e.g. neurovascular), eliminating the shadow effect from traditional OR overhead lighting and/or halogen headlamps. The simple ergonomic operator-controlled light may reduce operative time and has the potential to improve safety.

Lumos maintains a streamlined and ergonomic shape for precise use - with standard cut and coagulation buttons as well as a third green button for light activation. Lightweight, ultrasonic welded ABS construction with a light textured finish ensures a comfortable, secure grasp with superior scalpel control.
